Two of the more buzzed about franchises in the NBA – the Miami Heat and Brooklyn Nets – will sport player’s nicknames on the back of jerseys during at least one meeting between the teams this upcoming season. Expect names like King James, Jesus Shuttlesworth, The Truth and KG – all league approved options to be likely choices. AP reports, “It shows growth in our league and it shows we do adapt to what’s going on around us,” said Allen, the Heat guard who plans to wear Shuttlesworth on his jersey, a nod to his character from the He Got Game film. “And we’re still kids, playing a kids’ game. Even though we’re now men playing a kids’ game, we still remember where we come from. Everybody had a nickname and it’s a way to let the fans in a little bit more.”

Last night following the All-Star game, Lil Wayne and Birdman partied at Stereo Live in Houston and things got interesting. Lil Wayne said that the Miami Heat had banned him from all NBA events and he went in on them. He got the crowd to chant “Fuck NBA” and “Fuck Miami Heat”. He also said “Fuck Lebron”, “Fuck She-Wade”, “I fucked Chris Bosh’s wife” and that he is the new Pac.

WHY THE MIAMI HEAT WILL WIN THE 2013 NBA CHAMPIONSHIP

There are two reasons I feel that the Miami Heat will capture this year’s NBA title: 1.) LeBron James and 2.) The ability of the Miami Heat to play small ball because of LeBron James. Let’s be clear, LeBron James is the BEST player in the NBA, and it’s by a wide margin. He is the best player in the NBA for a vast amount of reasons, the largest being the fact that he gives the Miami Heat coaching staff supreme lineup flexibility. LeBron James is the Queen on the chess board, he is dangerous from every spot on the floor and the closer he gets to the rim, the more devastating he can be.  The fact that LeBron is posting up more and basically playing power forward for the Heat is allowing Miami to operate at their optimum level. How many times have you watched your favorite team play and wish they could put their 5 best players out there on the court but they can’t because of the position they play? Well Miami doesn’t have that problem. Their best lineup is LeBron James, Dwayne Wade , Chris Bosh, Big wing player X(Mike Miller or Shane Battier) and Smaller wing player Y(Mario Chalmers, Norris Cole or Ray Allen. This has terrified almost every single team in the league into making acquisitions and tinkering with different lineups trying to find ways to matchup with this small ball lineup. Guest Blog: “Trade Wade” by @ProfessorCorria

#TRADEWADE

I know the idea sounds ludicrous, and you assume that I am on drugs or just plain stupid, but there are valid reasons for the Miami Heat to trade one of their superstars, Dwayne Wade. First and foremost Dwayne Wade is a great player and has led a team to a championship in the past. But, if we are all being honest we have to acknowledge that the Miami Heat play better when Dwayne Wade is out of the lineup. It’s obvious to the naked eye that their offense flows better without Wade in the lineup and that almost to a man every player on the team performs better and is utilized more efficiently without his presence. Dwayne Wade turned 30 this past week and you can see throughout history that every marquee shooting guard has seen their numbers decline steadily after the age of 30. Even the great Michael Jordan saw his scoring numbers and player efficiency rating decline after the age of 30(Basketball-Reffrence.com). As great as Dwayne Wade is, he does have an injury history and a penchant for crashing to the floor several times a game. Lastly, Imagine what the trade possibilities would be for a player like Dwayne Wade? Would Orlando turn down a trade offer of Dwayne Wade and Joel Anthony for JJ Reddick and Dwight Howard, knowing they would have Wade locked in until 2014? The thoughts is intriguing to say the least. LeBron James to Join Miami Heat

Nike’s poster child and number one asset, LeBron James, will join Jordan Brand’s number one athlete Dwyane Wade in Miami. Announced minutes ago during his “The Decision,” special, King James will work under the tutelage of Pat Riley as he strives to win his first NBA Championship ring in the 2010-2011 season.

Also joining the two superstars is Chris Bosh, who will likely act as a very viable third option for the team.

Is it any coincidence that LeBron announced he would change his jersey number to #6 following an away game in Miami last season?  Remember, the Miami Heat hung #23 in the rafters to honor Michael Jordan
