During her interview with NME, Kelis gives her thoughts on Nas’ “Life Is Good” album cover, which featured her wedding dress. She also talks about her busy touring schedule and what we can can expect from her next album.
After a year-long standoff, TMZ reports that Nas and Kelis were official divorced last Friday in L.A. County Superior Court. Last month, Esco’s contempt charged was dismissed, but the legal drama is far from over. The former couple are due back in court for unresolved spousal and child support issues.
Yesterday, a Los Angeles judge cleared Nas of his contempt of court charge after paying close to $50,000 in child support to estranged wife, Kelis. In February, the singer’s lawyer filed for contempt when Esco lagged on child and spousal support payments. In a statement, Nas said, “All I want to do is make music and raise my kids. Nothing else matters.” Throw up a fist for black power.

Kelis is makin the illest come-up right now. TMZ reports that a L.A. County Superior Court judge ordered Nas to ante up $47,249.42 in back child support and $40,454 in spousal support to estranged wife, Kelis.
Nasty Nas owes Kelis $299,015.50 and must pay $10,000 per month until the debt is paid. He also has to fork over 90% of the singer’s legal fees ($155,787.28) and cover her accounting expenses ($48,549.83) Man, that’s a lot of numbers.
Like the overwhelming majority of us, Mr. Smith isn’t a big fan of Kelis’ new look she showcased at an event last night in LA. He just had the courage to say something, baby. Ha!
