Word is that G.O.O.D. Fridays are back (per Kim K) and today we get a new record from Yeezy titled ‘Real Friends’ featuring Ty Dolla $ign. SWISH coming soon. Also included is a snippet of a new song with Kendrick Lamar at the end.

VIBE caught up with Common backstage at Rock the Bells. Last winter, he told us that there was a slight possibility that G.O.O.D. Music would release a sequel to their debut label collaboration Cruel Summer, dubbed Cruel Winter. Then, rumors about Cruel Winter’s existence popped up again when CyHi The Prynce revealed that G.O.O.D. Music was “in negotiations with Def Jam” to release a second compilation by the end of 2013. But, according to Common that doesn’t look like it’s going to happen.
Yesterday, Big Sean made his way to Power 106 to premiere his new single âSwitch Upâ featuring Common. During the interview, Sean talks about the recent news of Kid Cudi leaving G.O.O.D. Music. He says he fully supports Cudi and that they will continue to make music together. He also mentions that Cudi gave him his Jesus piece. Kid Cudi made his way to Power 106 to sit down with DJ Felli Fel and Yesi Ortiz. During the conversation, Kid Cudi dropped a bomb and revealed that he is no longer on Kanye Westâs G.O.O.D. Music label. He says there is no beef and he will continue to do music with the camp. He says he just wanted to go in a different direction and focus on King Chip and his own Wicked Awesome label. He also mentions that he made the decision 6 months ago and that he spoke with Don C and Jay-Z about how he should approach Kanye.
âMan, everything is cool. Everything is peace with everyone on the label, but Iâm announcing that Iâm no longer on G.O.O.D. Music. And this is something that no one knows really. Iâm no longer on G.O.O.D. Music. Me and Kanye were actually talking on the phone the other day, and thereâs been things I wanted to talk to him about. About me wanting to start my own direction, and he got because heâs trying to start his own new path, and trying new things as an artist. And he was just like âMan, I feel you. Itâs cool.â This is just from a business standpoint. Thereâs no beef with anyone on the label. Itâs all love.â

Can you tell me what the nature of your relationship with G.O.O.D. is?
2 Chainz:Â Iâm not officially signed, paperwork-wise, to G.O.O.D. Music. But I have a great rapport with âYe. He called me before Watch the Throne came out. Iâm an only child. Iâve got trust issues. So I donât have a best friend, a brother, sisterânothing. Stuff was happening in my life that I couldnât tell nobody. I didnât have anybody in my life that I could tell, like, ââYe just called me.â Iâve talked to âYe 1,000 times about trying to make this situation work for the both of us, so it wonât feel like anyone is getting used or anything. Iâm in a position in life where I like talking about things like that. I came from a situation with DTP, being under Luda, where I got a phobia. Sometimes when an artist signs another artist, theyâre so worried about themselves. And with âYe, he helps everybody.
