Today we come across new information that Apple will actually release a 7-inch version of the its popular iPad table computer in October 2012. Apparently the new smaller version will be identical to its current version, will feature a Retina display, and will be priced at 200-250 USD.
“Apple will be going forward with the 7-inch iPad, currently targeting an October 2012 release alongside the new iPhone, and — here’s the killer — at a $200 to $250 price point. According to our source, which has proven reliable in the past, the reason for such aggressive pricing is to do to the tablet market what Apple did to the MP3 market in 2004 with the expansion of the iPod product line — leave absolutely no space for competitors.”
We have absolutely no doubt, that a 7-inch iPad will be a hit on the market. Now, let’s just hope it becomes reality. This latest report sounds to be pretty sure. (Via iMore)

Today Apple announced the new iPad and it is not the iPad 3, it is the iPad HD. It comes with a beautiful 2048 x 1536 pixel Retina display, an A5X processor, which includes a quad-core graphics module, is 4G LTE ready and also includes a new 5 megapixel camera that is also capable of capturing 1080p video.
The new iPad HD launches on March 16th. The price is $499, $599 and $699 for 16, 32, and 64GB. If you want 4G LTE, you will have to spend $629, $729, and $829.

Apple has just made its second-generation iPad official! It features a 1GHz dual-core A5 chip and,finally, cameras, both on the front and rear. The new CPU is said to be up to twice as fast, with graphics performance up to nine times better than on the original iPad, while power requirements have been kept the same. Battery life is, consequently, unaltered, with Apple promising 10 hours. Pricing, too, has been left unchanged, starting at $499 for a 16GB WiFi-only iPad 2 and stretching up to $829 for a WiFi + 3G SKU with 64GB of storage. The new tablet will come with an HDMI output capable of 1080p — which will set you back $39 for the requisite dongle, called an Apple Digital AV Adapter — but there will sadly be no rumblings of Thunderbolt connectivity here. What you will get is an enlarged speaker grille on the back, as expected, and the same 1024 x 768 resolution and IPS LCD screen technology as on the original iPad. Confirming a post we posted yesterday, it looks like the new iPad may see an arrival soon as Apple recently sent out invitations to their special event in San Francisco on March 2, 2011. The iPad 2 will undoubtedly welcome another wave of customers to Apple’s already loyal fanbase while increasing sales considerably for its popular tablet. Apple will announce its next-generation iPad tablet at a special media event on March 2nd, The Wall Street Journal reports. The report, found on The Journal’s BoomTown blog, cites multiple sources with its claim and further supports an earlier report that the iPad 2 release will not be delayed. Apple will hold the event in San Francisco to announce its new tablet, as usual, and it is unclear whether or not Apple CEO Steve Jobs will be on hand to unveil the device. Jobs is currently on medical leave, so it stands to reason that he will not be in attendance. In that case, Tim Cook will likely run the show as he did during Jobs’ last medical leave. Press has not begun receiving invitations for the event yet, though they should begin arriving soon if The Journal’s report is accurate.
It’s a bit hard to believe that Apple might be in the midst of testing a trimmed down iPad for a possible release in the fall, especially considering CEO Steve Jobs’ past remarks that 7-inch tablets were “dead on arrival.” Apple has a long history of flip-flopping when it comes to its iOS devices, however, so we certainly shouldn’t rule anything out. With that in mind, Apple enthusiast blog SuperApple.cz reports that Apple is currently testing iPad tablets with screen sizes just under 6 inches. The blog offers no hard evidence or additional details of substance, though it claims to have confirmed its report with two independent sources. Rumors of Apple working on a product sized between the iPad and iPhone have surfaced several times in the past, and it is not unreasonable to think Apple is testing a smaller iPad right now. We just got some pretty wild information from one of our Apple sources and while it’s hard to believe at first, it does make sense. We have exclusively been told that the reason Apple just added multitouch gestures for the iPad in the latest iOS 4.3 beta is because the iPad will be losing the home button. Yes, we are told that Apple, at some point in time, will remove the home button from the iPad’s design. Instead of button taps, you will use new multitouch gestures to navigate to the home screen and also to launch the app switcher.
That’s not all, however. In addition to the home button disappearing from the iPad, we’re told that this change will make its way over to the iPhone as well. Our source said Apple employees are already testing iPads and iPhones with no home buttons on the Apple campus, and it’s possible we will see this new change materialize with the next-generation iPad and iPhone devices set to launch this year.
Additionally, we’re told Apple’s popular photo-taking application, Photo Booth, will be appearing on the next iPad. It’s also very possible that we’ll see iLife apps for iOS unveiled around the iPad 2 release as well.
It has been said that Steve Jobs didn’t want any physical buttons on the original iPhone at first, and it looks like he may soon get his wish. via BGR.
Italian fashion house Fendi has now joined the seemingly endless list of labels to offer iPhone 4 and iPad cases. Opting for bold, block colorways, each case is branded using a tonal print created from Fendi’s trademark double-F logo. Each case is made from rubber for added protection and is set for release sometime during the middle of this month. Whilst the exact number of stores to carry the range is yet to be confirmed, it is known that Fendi Japan shall be the first store to stock the entire run.
