Nike and Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland, Ore. celebrate the 10th year of the Doernbecher Freestyle Program, a unique collaboration that has empowered 58 young patients through design and raised more than $6 million for the hospital to help expand pioneering research, support clinical care, purchase state-of-the-art equipment, recruit new experts and help cover the cost of care for families most in need.
Since 10 years the project brings together a group of OHSU Doernbecher patients with Nike designers and developers to create shoes that are truly unique to each patient. Many of you gotten to know the program on our site over the years and you have seen many of the unique resulting sneakers from the project. Next to the Nike Dunk High 10th Anniversary Collection, that celebrates all the previously involved patients, Nike has once again worked with patients on a new set of sneakers and apparel for this 10th collection. Breaking Bad has been stealing the spotlight of late and with good reason. Tonight the series comes to an end with the last season finale. After winning the Outstanding Drama Series at last weeks Emmy Awards, fans are gearing up for this weekend’s series finale. To celebrate the end of the show, a series of collector’s edition prints has been released. Designed by Ty Mattson, the silkscreened prints follow Walter White’s transformation from science teacher, through Heisenberg, and finally Mr. Lambert. The prints are available as individual 18″ x 24″ posters or as a set of three 11″ x 14″ prints. The series is numbered and hand signed by the artist and can be purchased here.
